“Higurashi no Naku Koro ni” Second Season Announced
A second TV anime season for “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni” (Ryuu Kishi 07), a multimedia project that originated as a doujin sound novel, has been announced. The first season was broadcast from April to September of this year.
Despite its origin as audio drama software only available at Comiket and a handful of doujin software retailers, “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni” gained considerable notoriety throughout Internet otaku beginning roughly in the summer of 2004. This popularity prompted the creation of several anthology comics, novels, visual fan books, trading cards, and figures, etc. The anime adaptation that followed succeeded in introducing the series to an even wider fanbase than before, further boosting the series’ success.
Few of the details regarding the anime second season have yet been announced, but they will be made available at the official homepage (listed below) in the weeks to come.
